About BA (hons) Childhood (psychology) in Nottingham Trent University

You will engage with a broad knowledge base concerned with children and society, which will open up a wide range of opportunities in education, social and health services, community work and other diverse support work.

With a broad subject area covering 0 – 11 years, this course can open the door to a variety of careers with children and young people. Whatever direction you choose to take you will have the solid foundation of knowledge and understanding employers are looking for.

This degree provides a solid foundation in the understanding of childhood and an introduction to the psychology of childhood. It will explore aspects of human behaviour and interaction, and help you to understand why and how children may behave as they do.

What skills will I develop?

A Childhood degree develops specific skills and knowledge around the subject of how children learn and develop. You will learn about the history and culture of childhood, as well as the major theories of social, emotional and cognitive development.

Nottingham Trent University Admission Procedure 

• Application: The UG applications are accepted through ‘Universities and Colleges Admissions Service (UCAS)’ and PG applications through the ‘NTU applicant portal’.
• Application fee: One needs to pay £13 for 1 UG course and £24 for multiple UG courses.
• Application deadlines: For UG students the last date to apply is June 30, 2019. The PG programs don’t have any official deadline, however, it is better to apply one month prior to course start date.
• General requirements: Completed application form, academic transcripts, and English proficiency tests.
• Additional requirements: Birth certificate, passport copy, LOR.

English Proficiency Test: Majority of the courses require IELTS score ranging between 6.0 and 6.0 for entry. However, other equivalent English test scores are also acceptable.
