About Illustration | BA (hons) in Leeds Beckett University
Course Details
This course will enable you to challenge the conventions of the discipline of illustration. You will explore traditional, hybrid and experimental forms of visual communication to develop your own creative practice.
You will be able to develop concepts and narratives through drawing, sequential illustration and animation, digital practices, three-dimensional forms, performance and creative writing. Your studies will enable you to investigate established unfamiliar and emerging processes, to inform your own individual methodologies. These practices are all underpinned by an emphasis on drawing and image-making.
This course will provide you with the opportunity to define and locate your own practice within the professional context of illustration. You will learn from a course team of experienced lecturers who practice and research in diverse industry fields with the knowledge and skills to support multidisciplinary explorations. As a result, you will be equipped with the practical, creative, critical and professional skills required to excel in the creative industries.
