About Games Art | Bsc (hons) in Leeds Beckett University
Course Details
Positioned at the intersection of art and technology, this course will provide a practical and creative exploration in the production of art for games. You will engage prior to arrival through a series of stimulating summer projects, designed to prepare you for first year at the university.
In year one, you will apply the fundamentals of design theory to game art media and critical visual research strategies, supported through your development of practical 2D/3D visualisation and compositional skills.
You will begin your second year by establishing your practice in the form of a personal portfolio. In addition, you will understand the application of critical studies in relation to game art and workflows required for implementation of digital assets within game engine and visualisation technologies.
In your third year, you will undertake personal, detailed academic and practical research in relation to your specialised subject area and validate your creative process through your dissertation and portfolio.

Academic qualification equivalents
Standard 12th qualifications (CBSE/ICSE or State Boards of equivalent)
Grade: Minimum aggregate of 60% and above
English language requirements (one of the below):
- IELTS 6.0 with no skill below 5.5
- All India Senior School Certificate (CBSE) – English Grade 70%
- Indian School Certificate (Class-XII) (CISCE) – English Grade 70%
