Course Details
Civil engineers are responsible for designing, constructing and operating a wide range of infrastructure projects, including major structures, highways and water resources. With sustainability high on the agenda it creates a challenge for more complex, yet innovative, cost-effective environmentally sensitive solutions.
This course will ensure that you have the technical and management capability to contribute effectively in this environment and prepare you for your career as a civil engineering technician. The course is integrated with our BSc (Hons) Civil Engineering and comprises of the first two levels of study of the degree. On successful completion of this course, you can gain another qualification and progress onto the final year of the BSc degree.
Partially Accredited IEng qualification - Accredited IEng (Partial)
This qualification is approved by the JBM as:
1. fully satisfying the educational base for an Engineering Technician (EngTech).
2. partially satisfying the educational base for an Incorporated Engineer (IEng). A programme of accredited further learning will be required to complete the educational base for IEng.
The JBM consists of the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE), the Institution of Structural Engineers (IStructE), the Chartered Institution of Highways and Transportation (CIHT) and the Institute of Highway Engineers (IHE). See www.jbm.org.uk for further information.
