Course Details
We regularly review our courses to ensure we are offering you the best educational experience. This course is currently being reviewed for 2019 entry, therefore the information below is correct for students joining us in 2018/19 but there may be changes for students who wish to join us in 2019/20. These will be confirmed in the course specification made available to new applicants on this page from January 2019.
If you're keen to continue your studies after an HND or Foundation degree in Building Services Engineering, our course gives you the opportunity to progress as both an engineer and specialist project manager. You will focus on the development of innovative technological and engineering solutions in meeting carbon reduction and energy efficiency alongside the constraints of project contracts, time and costs.
We work closely with local industry experts - such as the Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers and a host of local and national companies. This is built into your studies with substantial input from the Leeds Sustainability Institute, which has a strong reputation for producing ground breaking research in low carbon buildings.
Research Excellence Framework 2014
Research Excellence Framework 2014: our University's results for the Architecture, Built Environment and Planning unit, which it entered for the first time, were impressive with 37% of its research being rated world leading or internationally excellent.
Course Benefits
You will get the chance to work in a team, alongside fellow students, on a design and project brief for an extension development to our university's city-centre Rose Bowl building.
As part of this project you will be involved in practical engineering and strategic design solutions for the heating, ventilating, air conditioning, lighting and electrical services installations for the proposed building.
