About Advanced Clinical Practice | Msc in Leeds Beckett University
Course Details
Healthcare professionals are developing new skills to meet the needs of growing numbers of people who live with complex and long-term conditions. Your learning will be based upon the NHS four-pillar framework for advanced clinical practitioners: clinical practice, leadership and management, education, and research. To achieve this, you will develop advanced health assessment skills and professional expertise in order to work as an autonomous practitioner. With your expert knowledge, complex decision-making skills and clinical reasoning you will be able to apply this knowledge to your clinical setting. Your learning will be client-centred and clinically focused, helping you develop the essential skills required by an advanced clinical practitioner working in acute, primary or secondary care settings, or for any organisation where advanced diagnostic skills are required. You will also undertake a dissertation, where you will explore a topic relevant to your area of practice, refining your expertise and underlining your leadership potential to employers.
Course Benefits
We have a long history of providing postgraduate courses in health and social care and this is a well-established course. As well as the many senior nurses who study with us, there is growing interest from allied health professionals too, including paramedics, physiotherapists and pharmacists, allowing you to mix with those from different professions. The knowledge, expertise and attitude that you will gain will offer you the opportunity to consider advanced practice in significant depth, while also increasing your personal development and academic proficiency. You will learn skills that you will go on to use in your working environment, such as critique, analysis, clinical reasoning, communication, consultation, team working and time management.
