About BA (hons) Interior Design in Heriot Watt University, Edinburgh
Collaborate with talented designers from interiors, textiles and fashion in a specialist design school. This course gives you the opportunity to develop a complete set of interior design skills spanning the creative process, materials and furnishings right through to retail and event design, architectural alteration and technology.
Express yourself with the latest tech. We’ll show you how innovative new technology can help you bring your interior design ideas to life. And we’ll give you the opportunity to work on real projects for big businesses. Recently our students have worked on live projects to develop branded environments for Aeroleather, Locharron and Findra.
This exposure to live clients is something we’re proud of. We encourage you to use your final year as an opportunity to work with more and more external businesses. This helps you challenge yourself and develop connections and skills that will be invaluable after graduation. Many of our graduates go on to work in creative roles in London, Edinburgh and Glasgow for companies like IKEA among others. You could follow in their footsteps.
The course is taught in our Scottish Borders Campus, which sits close to the heart of Scotland’s luxury textile industry. This is your chance to study in an area that’s home to some of the UK’s top design and production facilities for textiles and fashion. Find out more about what this highly creative and practical course has to offer on our School pages.
