About Bn (hons) Children's Nursing in Glyndwr University, Wrexham

Children’s nursing is a rewarding profession caring for children, young people and their family from birth to young adulthood. At Wrexham Glyndwr University we will prepare you with the knowledge and skills to become a graduate and NMC registered children’s nurse.

We pride ourselves on the support and guidance offered to students with an open-door approach. 

You will:

• Have a personal tutor who will support and guide you in your personal and professional development.
• Study a programme developed to meet the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) (2018) Future Nurse standards.
• Split their studies 50/50 between clinical practice and theory. Practice placements in a variety of hospital and community settings enable you to experience a range of learning opportunities. Support in placement is by practice supervisors and assessors along with an academic assessor and practice education facilitators.
• Study family-centred and child-centred care throughout te course. Child field specific learning from the beginning gives you the opportunity to learn about the care needs of children, young people and their families, along with shared learning between child, adult and mental health fields of nursing on common themes relevant for all.
• Have opportunities for interprofessional learning enable collaborative working with a range of different health care professionals.
• *Study a course that is in a subject area rated 1st in the UK for student satisfaction in the Nursing subject league tables, Complete University Guide 2023.

Academic qualification equivalents

•  India Standard XII – 65% minimum from all state boards.
  •    Diploma from the State Board of Technical Education with 60% minimum (including MEng).
  •    International Baccalaureate Diploma with 28 points or more.

You may be eligible for advanced entry onto the second year of a degree programme if you have a three or four year diploma. However, this will be decided on a case-by-case basis and the content of the course which you have previously been studying will need to closely match that of the course which you are applying for.

English language requirements

• IELTS Academic:6.0 (with no individual skill score below 5.5)
• TOEFL-iBT Minimum Overall: 79 With no individual test score below

              Listening: 17,Reading: 18,Speaking: 20,Writing: 21

• PTE Academic:54 (with no less than 51 for individual skill scores)
