Designed with a specific focus on business in a European context, this direct entry course is part of an innovative bachelor’s degree that can enable you to study in three different countries. Providing excellent preparation for the global workplace, the first year is spent studying with our European partners in either Spain, Germany or Finland and the second in Belgium. Your undergraduate studies culminate with the final year here in Coventry. Course information
On this exclusive degree programme, you will be provided the opportunity to learn how to formulate and suggest solutions to business problems, communicate and present your advice within a business setting and gain hands-on experience of standard ICT business applications packages, such as Microsoft.
The first two years of the course, studied at our partner European institutions, will explore a range of business subjects and provide a foundation for your degree.
This final year focuses on management and business practices and provides an overview of European business operations, both public and private, and how to handle trade policies and regulations. Emphasis is given to applying theory in different business contexts across Europe and the effect current European issues (such as Brexit) have on the world. You will be able to tailor your studies by choosing 3 optional modules (or 2 optional modules plus 2 Add+Vantage modules).
You will be provided with the opportunity to gain detailed knowledge of the various functional areas of a business, a broad appreciation of the environment in which businesses operate, the theory and practice of management. We will have the chance to debate and discuss business issues, such as global economic uncertainty, political conflict, environmental issues, increased regulation and legislation.
Your degree culminates with a written dissertation based on a supervised research project designed to extend your knowledge and understanding in a specialist area of interest and related to your studies. Previous students on this course have chosen topics ranging from investigating the effect of ‘greenwashing’ in the context of corporate social responsibility to investigating the possibilities of low cost travel for long haul travel and analysing the impact on family and career of female high fliers.
