Course information

The programme focuses on the demands of the modern Engineering workplace encompassing the main engineering disciplines. Many of our graduates have progressed to postgraduate study and are working towards a master’s qualification in fields such as petroleum engineering, civil engineering, mechanical engineering, automotive engineering and electrical and electronic engineering.

Previous graduates have progressed to become Engineering Technicians, Project Managers and Trainee Engineering Lecturers.

Students who successfully complete this course and achieve appropriate professional experience (an average of three years in a graduate engineer position) may be eligible to apply for Chartered Membership of an Engineering Institution e.g. IET or IMechE, subject to meeting the relevant professional body entry criteria.

Electro-Mechanical Engineering Higher National Certificate (HNC)

64 UCAS tariff points. All courses require 5 GCSEs at A-C including Maths and English.

Electro-Mechanical Engineering BEng (Hons) Degree

104 UCAS tariff points. All courses require 5 GCSEs at A-C including Maths and English.

All HNC/Degree courses require at least two A2 level or a BTEC equivalent qualification. Electro-Mechanical Engineering also requires a Physics or Maths based A level or equivalent.
