About Management Studies in Canterbury Christ Church University
This flexible course is a part-time master's level course for those who wish to enhance their effectiveness and confidence in the workplace.
This suite of courses has been recognised by the Chartered Management Institute, the UK's only chartered body that awards management and leadership qualifications.
These courses do not currently qualify for postgraduate loan funding from Student Finance.
Why Management studies?
The course provides a rounded introduction to the principles of management and is designed to have immediate relevance and application in your current role whilst also providing potential for future progression in both study and career.
The course allows you to achieve a Masters level qualification in three stages, or leave and re-join after the Certificate or Diploma stages. Once you have the Diploma, all you need to achieve the MA is to complete the module in Research Skills and a management research report.
The teaching hours are designed to have minimal impact on the working day and additional study is undertaken in your own time, so you can study while working, and won't need ask your employer to release you for significant amounts of time. You can, however, still benefit from regular contact with lecturers, tutors and your fellow students.
What can i do next?
Many successful candidates from this course benefit from using their newfound qualification and confidence to progress their careers with their current employer, or to use it to secure promotions or new employment elsewhere. Other candidates have used the qualification to improve what they are undertaking within their current role.
Academic qualification equivalents:
- Bachelor of Arts/Science/Commerce degree of at least 3 years duration or Professional Degree (4 years+)
English language requirements (one of the below):
- IELTS : 6.5 or equivalent, with no less than 6.0 in Writing and no less than 5.5 in Reading, Speaking and Listening.
- TOEFL : minimum score of 90, minimum score of 19 in reading, writing and listening.
- PTE : overall score of 58 and no PTE communicative skills score below 50
