Our MA Science Fiction and Fantasy is developed with working professionals in mind. It will help you develop the critical skills and the industry know-how for a career working with literature, film and art in roles such as publisher, agent, writer, teacher or librarian.
Once you graduate, you might also be interested in taking a research degree, such as our MPhils / PhDs in English Literature, Creative Writing or Publishing.
Academic qualification equivalents
- 3 year Bachelors or 4 year Bachelor Engineering or Technology, minimum division 2 (50% - 59%) in relevant subjects
- 4 year Bachelor of Laws complying with above for entry to LLM
- a recognised pre-Masters course
English language requirements
If English is not your first language you'll need to be able to show you have the required level of English language. This is so we can ensure you'll be able to follow your course.
- Our standard entry criteria for postgraduate taught and postgraduate research courses is IELTS 6.5, with nothing lower than 5.5 in any of the four elements (listening, speaking, reading and writing).
- ETS TOEFL iBT with 88 overall and a minimum of 17 in Writing and Listening, 18 in Reading and 20 in Speaking
- Pearson PTE with 61 overall and a minimum of 51 in all components.
