Our psychology degree includes an optional placement year between Years 2 and 3. It's a brilliant opportunity to get work experience and boost your employability, and our Placements Team is here to support you.
Future careers
This degree will open up a wide range of careers. You could undertake further training to go on to become a counselling or clinical psychologist, or specialise in areas like health, educational or forensic psychology. You’ll be able to become a Graduate Member of the British Psychological Society if you graduate with at least a second-class honours degree.
The skills you’ll learn are highly transferable, so you won’t be limited in your choices. The ability to write well, analyse data and understand social behaviour will prepare you for whichever career path you choose.
Graduation doesn’t need to be the end of your time with us. If you’d like to continue your studies we offer a wide range of full-time and part-time postgraduate courses including Masters in Foundations in Clinical Psychology, Clinical Child Psychology, Cognitive and Clinical Neuroscience and Research Methods in Psychology.
Academic qualification equivalents
- HSC/Standard 12 with an overall average of 50% from the West Bengal exam board
- HSC/Standard 12 with an overall average of 55% from the following exam boards: CBSE, Delhi, Mumbai, Tamil Nadu
- HSC/Standard 12 with an overall average of 60% with at least 40% in a minimum of 5 subjects from any other exam board
- a recognised foundation qualification
English language requirements
If English is not your first language you'll need to be able to show you have the required level of English language. This is so we can ensure you'll be able to follow your course.
- Our standard entry criteria for undergraduate courses is IELTS 6.0 or equivalent, with nothing lower than 5.5 in any of the four elements (listening, speaking, reading and writing).
- ETS TOEFL iBT with 80 overall and a minimum of 17 in Writing and Listening, 18 in Reading and 20 in Speaking
- Pearson PTE with 57 overall and a minimum of 51 in all components.
