We work with employers to make sure you graduate with the knowledge, skills and abilities they need: they help us review what we teach and how we teach it.
Our BA (Hons) History degree will prepare you particularly well for roles that require a substantial body of historical knowledge, such as heritage manager, museum curator or broadcast journalism.
The key skills you’ll learn include research, data analysis, critical thinking and complex problem solving, which are sought after in many disciplines, but make a particularly strong pairing with historical knowledge in areas such as archaeology, genealogy, archiving or the Civil Service.
Our History course, which includes elements of Personal Development Planning, will help you find the most suitable career path or even move on to a postgraduate degree, such as our MA History or MA International Relations.
Academic qualification equivalents
- HSC/Standard 12 with an overall average of 50% from the West Bengal exam board
- HSC/Standard 12 with an overall average of 55% from the following exam boards: CBSE, Delhi, Mumbai, Tamil Nadu
- HSC/Standard 12 with an overall average of 60% with at least 40% in a minimum of 5 subjects from any other exam board
- a recognised foundation qualification
English language requirements
If English is not your first language you'll need to be able to show you have the required level of English language. This is so we can ensure you'll be able to follow your course.
- Our standard entry criteria for undergraduate courses is IELTS 6.0 or equivalent, with nothing lower than 5.5 in any of the four elements (listening, speaking, reading and writing).
- ETS TOEFL iBT with 80 overall and a minimum of 17 in Writing and Listening, 18 in Reading and 20 in Speaking
- Pearson PTE with 57 overall and a minimum of 51 in all components.
