Build on your respect for evidence and analytical sciences with our Forensic Science degree, accredited by the Chartered Society of Forensic Sciences. Our Cambridge-based course gets you hands-on with specialist analytical equipment, authentic crime scene rooms and placement and internship opportunities with local police forces and forensic labs. You’ll graduate with the skills to start a career in forensic science and other analytical science-related fields.

Graduating from this course prepares you for a range of careers in the forensic sector including crime scene investigation and laboratory analysis. In addition, the skills and knowledge you acquire are transferrable to a wide range of scientific and analytical-based jobs. Furthermore, you will be equipped to follow a career in other areas such as research, teaching, business, the law or further education.
Recent forensic science graduates have successfully secured jobs directly related to their degrees in the local police force and in companies such as LGC, Chemtest, Treatt and Cellmark.
Graduation doesn’t need to be the end of your time with us. If you’d like to continue your studies we offer a wide range of full-time and part-time postgraduate courses including MSc Forensic Science.
Academic qualification equivalents
- HSC/Standard 12 with an overall average of 50% from the West Bengal exam board
- HSC/Standard 12 with an overall average of 55% from the following exam boards: CBSE, Delhi, Mumbai, Tamil Nadu
- HSC/Standard 12 with an overall average of 60% with at least 40% in a minimum of 5 subjects from any other exam board
- a recognised foundation qualification
English language requirements
If English is not your first language you'll need to be able to show you have the required level of English language. This is so we can ensure you'll be able to follow your course.
- Our standard entry criteria for undergraduate courses is IELTS 6.0 or equivalent, with nothing lower than 5.5 in any of the four elements (listening, speaking, reading and writing).
- ETS TOEFL iBT with 80 overall and a minimum of 17 in Writing and Listening, 18 in Reading and 20 in Speaking
- Pearson PTE with 57 overall and a minimum of 51 in all components.
