About Forensic Investigation Fdsc in Anglia Ruskin University
Over a period of two years you’ll develop the theoretical knowledge and practical skills needed to work as a crime scene examiner, mixing academic study with work-based learning.
There are core modules in forensic methods, management and investigation, UK law and the legal system, criminology, mass disasters, community safety and police investigation, so you’ll actually be well-equipped for careers in many areas of the criminal justice system.
You’ll learn in various ways, from lectures and seminars to practical sessions including laboratory-based work, role play and simulations.
By the time you graduate you’ll have a sound knowledge of how to select and carry out forensic crime scene procedures accurately, safely and legally – producing high quality scientific evidence that the courts will accept.
You’ll also know your way around the criminal justice system and will able to deal confidently and knowledgeably with forensic science colleagues, as well as other agencies such as the police, courts and community partnerships.
This course will also teach you scientific writing and research methods, so you’ll be well-prepared if you’d like to continue your academic studies.
