Central to the management of human resources in contemporary organisations is the ability to deal with and respond effectively to the needs of a diverse workforce, manage diversity, provide equal opportunities, and develop core competencies.
The policies and practices of attracting, motivating and holding employees in organisations can form potential research topics in relation to HRM functions, such as recruitment and selection, training and development, rewards and remuneration, and employee relations at the national, regional or international level, as well as in a comparative context.
A research degree at Abertay is excellent preparation for a career as a researcher and an academic, as well as a diverse range of professions outside of academia, for example, HR consultancy.
MSc by Research normally 1 year full-time or 2 years part-time, MPhil normally 2 years full-time or 4 years part-time, PhD normally 3 years full-time or 6 years part-time
