Summary
This programme will provide students with the knowledge and skills for a career in information technology. It is equivalent to the first year of the Bachelor of Applied Information Technology, so if students choose to progress to the degree they will only need to undertake another two years of study.
Students will develop an awareness of the IT environment and an appreciation of the needs of users. Students will develop the skills to work in roles such as computer technician, help desk and technical support officer, entry level network administrator, network engineer, and applications support analyst with a particular focus on technical support. This programme incorporates the New Zealand Certificate in Information Technology.

Academic qualification equivalents
- AllāIndia Senior School Certificate or the Higher Secondary School Certificate with 50% or better in 4 subjects
English language requirements (one of the below):

- TOEFL : Score of 46 (with a writing score of 14)
- PTE : PTE (Academic) score of 42 with no band score lower than 36
