About Marketing & Management – Higher Certificate In Business in Limerick Institute of Technology
What is the programme about?
This programme of study is designed to equip students with a solid grounding in business and in particular, Marketing and Management.
The programme ensures that students will be able to demonstrate the practical skills, knowledge and competence required at junior executive level. There are approximately 24 hours of timetabled activities per week which include lectures and tutorials as well as a range of practical learning experiences, such as, business case studies, industry project work and computer practicals; plus mid and end of year examinations.
Who is the programme suited to?
This programme is suitable for people who have an interest in careers as Marketing Assistant, Digital Marketing Administration, PR Assistant, Sales Executive, Account Manager.

1. With this programme, you will have an opportunity to study either Enterprise Development or a language (French, Spanish or Chinese). For the French option, you must have at least a Grade OD3 or higher in French in the Leaving Certificate. No prior knowledge of Spanish or Chinese is required for these options.
2. Some exemptions are available from the examinations of the following professional bodies:
- The Marketing Institute of Ireland (MII);
- The Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM);
- The Institute of International Trade of Ireland (IITI);
- The Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA).

Entry Requirement
A minimum of 5 O6/H7 grades in Leaving Certificate subjects, including Mathematics and English or Irish.
