What is the programme about?

This Level 7 programme aims to develop both the creative and technical aspects of the Interior Designer’s core skills, relevant to the level of the award. These aspects are seen as complementary, and together they produce a competent graduate, where technical knowledge and skills inform creativity and design intentions to achieve good design.

Who is the programme suited to?

The programme is suited to students from second level and mature students who wish to work as Interior Design Technicians.

Class Contact Hours

23 hours per week.

Further Studies

​Graduates will possess knowledge, skills and competencies associated with the design of interiors to what are considered appropriate standards in a modern context and to a Level 7 Degree programme. They will also possess certain skills in using current technology to assist in this process. In addition, their creative skills and abilities will have been developed. It is intended that they can be effective in the delivery of complete design solutions to clients.

Entry Requirement

A minimum of 5 O6/H7 grades in Leaving Certificate subjects, including Mathematics and English or Irish.
