About Nursing in University of Regina
The Saskatchewan Collaborative Bachelor of Science in Nursing (SCBScN) program, offered in collaboration with Saskatchewan Polytechnic, is a direct-entry, four year degree offered in Regina, Saskatoon, and North Battleford. You choose where you want to study!
The SCBScN program is leading edge in its approach to nursing education. It is practice-focused and student-centered. The curriculum, your professors, state of the art labs, and clinical experiences will provide you with the knowledge, skills, and experiences necessary to practice as a registered nurse in the 21st Century. You will learn about human anatomy and physiology, Aboriginal health, pharmacology, informatics, research methods and more. The program will enable you to support and advocate for people to achieve and maintain health through holistic nursing care.
Bilingual Option:
Beginning in the Fall 2018 term, the SCBScN program will be offering the Bilingual Nursing program to students (conditional on federal funding). Students will complete 50% of the program in French and 50% of the program in English. Seven (7) seats are available for this program option in Regina.
Community Learning Options:
North Battleford Applicants from the North Battleford region may complete Years 1-3 in Saskatoon, returning to North Battleford in Year 4. There are 16 seats available each year for admission for North Battleford and area residents.
Upper Year Option:
Applicants who have completed a practical nursing or psychiatric nursing program, are currently enrolled in a nursing program at another post-secondary institution, or have completed 9 credit hours of nursing courses from another recognized post-secondary institution may apply as an Upper Year applicant.
After-Degree Program:
Applicants who have completed a recognized university degree in any field of study, may apply to the After-Degree Nursing Program. Students attend classes in Regina and may complete the program in either six consecutive terms, or two calendar years.
Sample Courses: Family Health, Health and Education Across the Lifespan, Introduction to Informatics for Health Professionals, Nursing Reserach Methods, Social, Political and Economic Perspectives in Nursing.
Career Opportunities: Graduates find careers in hospitals, medical clinics, nursing homes, community health departments, schools, correctional facilities, youth service organizations, First Nation and Inuit health organizations and primary and population health services.

English language requirements (one of the below):
MINIMUM SCORE REQUIRED For All Faculties (Except Nursing)
- IELTS: Overall Band score of 6.5, with no band less than 6.0
- PTE: 63 overall,59 each
MINIMUMFACULTY OF NURSING
- IELTS: Overall Band score of 7.0 with no band less than 5.5 and 7.0 or higher in Speaking
- PTE: Minimum score 65
