About Health Sciences (msc) in University of Lethbridge
Program Description:
The University of Lethbridge is ranked as one of the most research-intensive universities for its size in Canada. Faculty members in Health Sciences have active research programs that examine health, wellness and quality of life within a variety of populations. We also research health systems, services and policies. We actively engage MSc students in our research activities and provide mentorship in a wide range of methodologies.
As an MSc student in our program you will learn applied research skills and gain the hands-on research experience you need to compete for research careers in government, industry, the health-care system, non-profit organizations, and universities. During our 2-year program, you will complete 4 core courses and a thesis under the direction of an academic supervisor and thesis committee.
For an MSc student who is admitted unconditionally, four to six graduate term courses or equivalent (12.0 to 18.0 credit hours) are required, as listed below:

Health Sciences 5300 - Advanced Statistics
Health Sciences 5400 - Advanced Qualitative Analysis
Additional courses should be selected in consultation with the student's supervisor.
Hands-On Work Experience
You also have the option of integrating academic study at the Master’s level with relevant, paid work in an appropriate health-related field by enrolling in the Co-operative Education /Internship Option. This hands-on opportunity enriches and further strengthens the professional development of students in our MSc program.
Who Can Apply
Successful MSc applicants typically have undergraduate training in health, social or biological sciences and/or serve as health professionals in medicine, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, psychology, counselling or social work. All applicants must have completed an undergraduate degree with a B or higher (3.0 cumulative grade point average in the last 20 credit hours). Meeting the minimum requirement does not guarantee admission.
Academic qualification equivalents
- A baccalaureate degree from a recognized degree granting institution
English language requirements (one of the below):
- IELTS : overall score of 6.5, and a minimum score of 6.0 in each band.
- TOEFL : overall score of 86.
- PTE : overall score of 63.
