About Acting For Film Tv & The Theatre in Toronto Film School
The acting program applies the Stanislavski Method to blend film and television acting with the critical foundations of stage technique. The program is taught by a faculty of acclaimed actors, with credits including The Handmaid’s Tale, American Gods, Orphan Black and Taken. You will explore artistic, technical and business areas of acting, through practical, hands-on training. From movement to voice and improvisation, you will learn the foundations of acting for the camera and stage, as well as the skills for voice-over, screenwriting, pitching, producing, directing, video editing, auditioning and career management.
Complete Acting Program
You’ll leave the program with a competitive edge of being “The Complete Actor,” having the skills to act for both the camera and stage. You'll develop a unique understanding of acting within the entire production process, from screenwriting to producing and directing.
Professional Portfolio and Career management
You’ll leave the program with professional headshots and an industry-ready portfolio including a demo reel of your film work, a short film and a voiceover mp3. You’ll also get expert advice on self-marketing, auditioning, and finding the right agent, as well as meet with Casting Workbook.
Accelerated Learning
With hands-on training in front of the camera and on-stage, the program will prepare you with the versatile creative and technical skills you need to succeed as an actor.

For all the prospective candidates hoping to enroll at the institute in the upcoming sessional year, an estimated cost of living in Canada has been tabulated below.
- Within two days of payment or contract, Students can cancel a payment with written notice of cancellation.
- Every student is entitled to a refund of fees paid for a program; however, The Toronto Film School is allowed to retain 20% of the total fees for the program. (whichever is less).

Toronto Film School Application Process
Toronto Film School Canada has the intake month of October. Students must apply well before the time otherwise they would be considered for the next admission cycle.

Applicationfee (non-refundable): CAD 100 for all programs, except for Film Production (CAD 500).
Basic Admission Requirements:
- An Ontario secondary school diploma (grade 12) or any equivalent.
- Notarized translated secondary (including any post-secondary) transcripts
- Mature student test: for a student who is over 18 and is not enrolling directly from secondary school.
