About University Arts And Sciences-certificate In Engineering Studies in Northern Lights College
University Arts and Sciences courses and credentials are designed to provide an educational experience that prepares students for work, citizenship, an enriched life as an educated person, and to create a solid foundation for further study.
Compared to the Certificate in Engineering, the Certificate in Engineering Studies is a credential that does not require completion of all science courses within two semesters. The Certificate in Engineering Studies is designed for students who are considering transfer into an Engineering degree program and prefer part-time study as an option.
Students who successfully complete this credential qualify for guaranteed admission into a second-year Engineering program at the University of Victoria. Second-year placement in particular UVic Engineering programs is determined on a competitive basis. Students are responsible for checking the transferability of their NLC coursework to other institutions.
