Under the direction and supervision of a health professional, graduates provide person-centred care aimed at promoting and maintaining the physical, emotional, cognitive and social well being of clients/residents.
Career Prospects
Graduates are prepared to work in any level of continuing care, such as home support, adult day care, assisted living, and complex care, including special care units. Graduates of NLC’s HCA Program are eligible for registration with the BC Care Aide & Community Health Worker Registry.
Academic qualification equivalents
- Completion of All India or State Board HSC (XII): 55% or higher in relevant subjects.
English language requirements (one of the below):
- IELTS: 6.0 with no band lower than 5.5
- TOEFL: 78 IBT
