Theoretical Foundations
The School Psychology program builds and extends on the foundational knowledge that you have obtained in your undergraduate psychology degree. Coursework is focused on developing a theoretical understanding of learning and behaviour in a developmental context, as well as conceptual framework for professional practice as a psychologist.
Practical Applications
The development of practical skills is integrated throughout all courses in the School Psychology program. Classroom-based learning is supplemented with intensive practica in school-based intervention and assessment. These practicum experiences culminate in a 600-hour internship. Research
Becoming a knowledgable, critical consumer of research is essential to developing an understanding of the need for evidence-based practice. Exposure to current research in the field is an integral part of all coursework in the School Psychology program. You'll further develop your research skills by completing a master's thesis. The School Psychology program coordinators will help you to find a thesis supervisor once you begin the program.
Career Options
Most of our graduates work as psychologists in the school system. Others continue on to doctoral programs in psychology. School Psychologists are currently in high demand across Canada.
Academic qualification equivalents
- For entry into a Master's Degree: Completion of BOTH a Bachelor’s (three-year) degree and a Master’s OR a Bachelor’s degree requiring four years of study.Overall score must be 60%.

- TOEFL : 93 (No individual score below 23)
