About Diploma In Mechanical Engineering Technology in Camosun College
Theory and real-world combined
This program differs from traditional Mechanical Engineering because of the focus on relevant applied skills. The program includes an emphasis on Computer-Aided-Design and Computer-Aided-Manufacturing (CAD/CAM) technology, as well as an introduction to robotics and automation.
Students also have the option to include co-operative education or an internship.

In their final academic term, mechanical engineering technology students pull all their new knowledge and skills together. From concept to completion, teams of students design and build final projects that are reviewed, tested and judged by a panel of industry experts. Days before graduation the students showcase their work for employers, media and the public.

What to expect
Effective Date: September 2016
The program is delivered over five semesters, starting in September and running through to the end of August in the second year. Later in the first year you will choose if you want to go straight through or participate in paid Co-op or Internship work terms.
The program is rigorous, requiring you to do work outside of the classroom. In addition to up to 30 hours per week of class time, you should expect to spend between 15-20 hours outside of the classroom per week.

- Bachelor's degree programs require a minimum of six Grade 12 credits at the university and/or university/college level.*

- TOEFL : score of 78 overall (no sub-score less than 19)
- PTE : Academic score of 54 overall (no sub-score less than 50)
