About Associate Of Arts Degree In General Arts in Camosun College
The flexible General Arts program offers you a two-year grounding in the arts. Build the program that interests you by choosing courses that fit your educational goals. You can also choose to specialize with five options within the Associate of Arts degree, including English, economics, social work or psychology.
What you'll learn
Camosun's General Arts associate degree program is offered by the School of Arts & Science. This two-year, 20-course program will give you a well-rounded education in the general arts.
As a graduate, you can choose to continue your studies with a bachelor's degree. You'll also be ready for any career that requires good communications skills and wide general knowledge. This AD can also lead to a full block transfer to Royal Roads University's Bachelor of Arts in Professional Communication program.
What to expect
Offered primarily at our Lansdowne campus, the Associate of Arts Degree in General Arts is a full-time two-year program that is also offered part-time and has a variety of course offerings. During your program, you can choose to take an optional internship or co-op work term.
This program contains a blend of arts and science courses to support the concept of a broad education.
Years 1 and 2
During your four academic terms, you will take 20 courses, including English, arts and science courses. You will have the flexibility to chart your own academic path.
Optional Co-op or Internship
After you have completed at least eight courses, you can choose to complement your associate degree with a work term.
Academic qualification equivalents
- Bachelor's degree programs require a minimum of six Grade 12 credits at the university and/or university/college level.*
English language requirements (one of the below):
- IELTS : (Academic) score of 6.0 overall (no sub-score less than 6.0)
- TOEFL : iBT score of 78 overall (no sub-score less than 19)
- PTE : Academic score of 54 overall (no sub-score less than 50)

***This cost is for most ELD (ESL) courses when taken full-time. Students in ELD courses who also register in any academic courses (including upgrading courses) will be required to pay additional tuition and fees per course. Students must meet course-specific prerequisites.
