This course allows students with a HND (or equivalent level 5 qualification) in business-related subjects to top-up to a full degree award.
The Business Entrepreneurship programme looks at developing businesses from a practical perspective. You will gain a grounding in business management and build your competence in management functions such as basic accounting and business modelling.
Being in business has never been so exciting and rewarding; entrepreneurs have the ability to work across a variety of business disciplines, whether specialising in industries, consulting in Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) or setting up in business.
The three stages of the course are built around an entrepreneurial stream, exploring key learning in business start-ups, business growth and development, and entrepreneurial skills.
You will develop a grounding in business management, building competences in management functions such as marketing and strategy. You will learn about the theory and the practice of operating in the modern business environment and obtain the skills required to work in the industry of your choice.
As well as guest speakers, industry experts and experienced staff, you will have the opportunity to engage in real projects where you will gain your own work experience.
New York Study Tour
You will have the opportunity to join the annual New York Study Tour, to network with a variety of businesses and large organisations, plus get a behind-the-scenes experience with business and marketing professionals. Previous visits have included CNN, a film production company, a branding company and a start-up food delivery company.
The cost for the 2016 trip will be £915 per student which includes flights, accommodation, breakfast, guided study tours, travel insurance and a trip hoody.
A variety of individual and group-based assessments are used in this course including reports, presentations, posters, e-portfolios, projects, client briefs, multiple-choice tests and examinations.

From start-up strategies to growth and exit strategies, this module considers how SMEs can plan their growth to ensure they fully exploit market potential and windows of opportunity. Entrepreneurial Strategy uses a variety of models and techniques designed for SMEs to enable them to negotiate the changing business environment.
Marketing now has more wonderful new tools than ever before, but has it improved communication with the customer? Constant innovation in digital technologies and the ways in which we interact with them has continued to advance since the personal computer became affordable. The two biggest changes more recently have been social and mobile. Social media has already revolutionised marketing and even mobile marketing has become mainstream. You will review digital technologies, how marketing can use these technologies and evaluate how effectively marketers are using these new technologies in reality.
