Bachelor (sustainable Agriculture And Food Security) in Western Sydney University

Program Description

  • Get a rewarding career in emerging 'green collar' industries. Opportunities are rapidly emerging for entrepreneurs to lead a new food future. Immersed in an approach that integrates social, economic, and environmental values, students will view plant and animal products from consumer contexts to explore personal and community perceptions about food sustainability.

  • By 2050, global food demand is forecast to be 70 per cent greater than the current demand. This increase must be achieved from a degraded natural resource base and with a reduction in greenhouse gas emissions.
  • To effectively address issues such as this will require a fundamental shift in the way we view and manage the environment, agriculture, food, and health.
  • Students will gain critical thinking skills and the ability to contribute innovative solutions to the complex challenge of future sustainable agriculture and food security.
