About Charles Darwin University

Charles Darwin Institution (CDU) was founded in 1989, the same year the Northern Territory University, the territory's first university, was founded. It was Australia's first dual-sector university, offering both a four-year degree and practical training. In conjunction with the Menzies School of Health Research, Charles Darwin University was established in 2003 as a result of the merger of the Northern Territory University, the Northern Territory Rural College in Katherine, and Centralian College in Alice Springs. Currently, the university is a member of the Innovative Research Universities and the Association of Southeast Asian Institutions of Higher Learning (ASAIHL) (IRU).

In Australia, CDU has three training facilities and five campuses. Casuarina is CDU's largest campus, and it is situated in Darwin's northern suburbs. It serves as the primary hub for research, higher education, and vocational education and training (VET) programmes. Numerous top-notch amenities are available on the campus, including a sizable library, a fitness centre, a gym, a bookshop, a post office, luxurious lodging, childcare services, and a number of eateries.

The Alice Spring campus serves as a significant educational hub for local and foreign students in the city and the outlying areas of Central Australia. It has a contemporary 85-seat lecture hall, specialised IT classrooms, a nursing clinical training lab, and a higher education science lab. The Palmerston campus, which has a number of VET business units and a contemporary library, is located close to Palmerston's city core. Katherine Town Center and Katherine Rural Campus are the two locations of the Katherine campus. It offers top-notch meeting and lodging options. To achieve the highest academic outcomes, the Sydney campus provides cutting-edge teaching and learning facilities, small class sizes, and simple access to teaching personnel.

The university provides a wide range of in-depth courses in a number of different subjects, including accounting, culinary arts, sports, social science, law, health, education, nursing, business, education, social work, IT, tourism, hospitality, and food, psychology, languages, design, and engineering. Over 21,000 students attend the university, including about 2,000 international visitors from 55 different nations, and there are over 700 eminent faculty members on staff.

Numerous foreign universities in a wide range of nations, including Austria, Malaysia, Indonesia, Germany, France, the United States, Canada, Japan, Norway, and Denmark, are partners with the university. Additionally, it continues to work together with different organisations to give students exposure to the workplace and practical training.
