Murdoch University, a public university with a focus on research and situated in Perth, was founded in the year 1973. With 510 students enrolled in various undergraduate programmes, it opened for business in 1975. The institution is associated with Universities Australia, Open Universities Australia, and Innovative Research Universities (IRU) (UA).
