About University of Alabama
The University of Alabama is an open research university that was founded in 1820 and is Alabama's largest and oldest university. The first classes of the university were held in 1831. Universities Research Association, University of Alabama System, and Oak Ridge Associated Universities are just a few of the prestigious organisations with which it is affiliated. William Nicholas, a well-known architect, designed and built the university's infrastructure. His efforts to the construction of the Alabama State Capitol and the Chris Episcopal Church in Tuscaloosa are well-known.
The campus covers an area of 1,970 acres. Within the campus, there are around 297 buildings. It provides all of the amenities that students require. Students can also stay at the lodging facilities. The campus infrastructure is well-maintained and administered by the university's administration authority. Many of the university's activities, festivals, quizzes, and competitions take place on campus. The campus is in close proximity to a number of well-known cafes and eateries. Additionally, surrounding the school are stationery stores and pharmacies. The university is conveniently located near public transportation.
The institution provides a bachelor's degree programme as well as a master's degree programme. The undergraduate programme has 33, 305 students while the postgraduate programme has 5,258 students. The university has a total enrollment of 38,563 students. The Southern Association of Colleges and Schools has granted the university accreditation. Students are supervised by knowledgeable faculty members.There are thirteen academic units in the courses. College of Arts & Sciences, College of Communication & Information Sciences, College of Engineering, College of Law, College of Nursing, and College of Human Environmental Sciences are some of the major departments. Students have the opportunity to hear about research projects from professionals as well. The university is primarily focused on engineering. Over the years, the university has seen a rapid increase in the number of students enrolled.

The University of Alabama rankings for 2024 are improved in the QS World University Rankings and THE World University Rankings. According to QS, the university jumped to #951-1000 from #1001-1200 in 2023. Meanwhile in THE, the university now stands at #601-800.

University of Alabama International Admissions
Applicants from outside the United States must provide extra information as necessary by the University of Alabama. These prerequisites include verification of English proficiency and proof of sufficient means to fund schooling for at least one year of the programme.
