Maryville University was founded in 1872 and is located in St. Louis, Missouri, United States. In 1923, Maryville College of the Sacred Heart was elevated from junior college to college status and renamed Maryville College of the Sacred Heart. Maryville became a coeducational institution in 1968, and in June 1991, it was designated a university with the authority to offer higher education. The university has been granted official accreditation by the Higher Learning Commission.
Maryville University has approximately 10,200 students enrolled. The university has six colleges and schools that offer a variety of undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral degrees. Statistically, the university offers more than ninety degrees to students from all fifty states and 58 nations. In addition, it offers over thirty online graduate and undergraduate programmes.
