California State University is a public university in California. Long Beach, sometimes known as 'The Beach,' was founded in 1949 as Los Angeles-Orange County State College. With its 322-acre campus, The University is the third-largest of the 23 California State University (CSU) institutes. It boasts one of the greatest student enrollments in the state of California. Arts, business, engineering, liberal arts, education, professional and international education, natural sciences and mathematics, health and human services, and education are among the courses offered by the eight colleges.
