AIS St Helens was the previous name for Auckland Institute of Studies (AIS). It is one of New Zealand's largest privately held degree-granting schools, having been created in 1990. It began in Auckland's downtown area. Three years after its founding, the institute relocated to Albert, Auckland, and turned the former St Helens Maternity Hospital building into a tertiary residential campus. The Institute is currently associated with the Centre for Research in International Education (CRIE). In addition, the New Zealand Qualifications Authority has approved all of its programmes (NZQA).
In Auckland, New Zealand, AIS maintains two campuses. The Chamberlain Park Golf Course is close to the St Helens Campus in Mt Albert. English language, business, hospitality management, tourism management, business administration, and information technology are all offered on this campus. It has a large library, cutting-edge computer labs, a restaurant, cosy dorms, large classrooms, a devotional area, and tennis courts. It also provides free parking and has an uninterrupted WiFi connection. St Helens Campus is within a five-minute walk away from Asquith Campus. Information technology, tourism management, business, and hotel management are among the courses available. Computer labs, a study room with library resources, a gymnasium, a student training canteen, and a sports hall are all located there.
In a variety of subjects, AIS provides a variety of postgraduate, undergraduate, diploma, certificate, graduate diploma, and postgraduate diploma programmes. It also features an English Language Centre, which provides Business English instruction as well as EAP, EFL, and IELTS preparation. Numerous academic institutions and organisations in New Zealand and overseas have strategic partnerships with the institute. Baekseok University in Korea, Stanford University in Bangladesh, Xiangnan University in China, Shih Chien University in Taiwan, and Informatics Education in Singapore are some of the overseas partner universities.
